| Jackie, sorry for the confusion I messed up on the first post.
The last pics are of the three I own, with one pic of #1 and 2 pics of #2 and #3.
Luke, when I was shpping for these I thought #2 had the most potential, if all if every thing that makes a Showa worthy came together. At yr three I'm still very optomistic.
The Kindai #1 was my second choice, when I bought them. I wanted one of the new style Koi that Brady was developing and he fit the bill. I am falling in love with it's dovelopment and for me he's running neck and neck with #2 right now. However with Showas it's the long hall that matters, most take much more time (yrs) to develop, so we shall see.
#3 fish is a truely a black Showa, of the old style, and I'm liking him more and more.
Aquitori, I'm not sure what Brady thought of these fish when I bought them, except that they were in the price range I had in mind.
I'm sure, like any other breeder, when yr 2 comes around what they beleive to be the 'very best' fish are kept another season the rest are sold. That being said I really like what I got and feel greatfull to be their custodian.
Now for some stats. When I got these #1 was 10" and now is almost 14", #2 was 12" and now is 15", #3 was 9.5" and now is 13".
some would say that those growth rates are not impressive but that's OK I'll take the slow and steady any day.
Thanks for the fun,
Jim
