Resisting Temptation

With the colder water temps around the corner. Will you be fasting your wet pets or will you give into temptation.. Fasting seems to be good for the koi and its colors. Not to mention your pocket book..

Mine are unheated and uncovered here in the UK. They are fed all year round and what they dont eat in 5 minutes is removed. They take hikari wheatgerm in small quantities down to about 5 or 6 degrees usually. The fish know best when it's too cold.

I'll be fasting them for sure. They aren't very hungry when it snows.

While beening indoors for the winter from around Oct. or Nov. To late March when there go back outside to the main pond I will stop feeding them for at lease 6 to 8 weeks when the water temps get to be about 55 to 50 *F which for me that would be around late Dec to Jan. and Feb. so inbetween that time no FOOD .
