hello,
I just finished a pond and I am aging it. I was wondering how to tell the difference from a koi and a shubukin. How are they the same and how are they different?
shubbies are goldfish and only get about 8-9 inches long...koi can get up to 3 feet long and have barbs....they say you should never have koi unless you have at least 1,000 gallon pond.I'm sure most around here would say it needs to be much bigger. Also shubbies are not as distructive as koi...and are better for a novice ponder.they can handle alot more abuse than koi can.
