The greatest moment in your Koi Hobby...

The greatest moment in your Koi Hobby...I would have to say is when I got a chance to go to Momotaro...That was probably my greatest moment...

I HAVE HONESTLY DERIVED A GREAT DEAL OF KOI HAPPINESS BY WATCHING KB GROW AND ALLOW ME TO make friends with SO MANY NEAT PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD ON THIS BOARD!

Greg I think in the routine you talked about with the travel with peter and the restaurant and shintaro, I'd have to include Den ( the dipper) as part of it.

He doesn't get much press but I'll tell you what, that man knows his koi. ( he's pictured at shintaro's in Greg's post!)

Well I guess I maybe could go with touring the Playboy Mansion last spring with Peter Waddington, Nigel Caddock, Gary Cryer and my buddy Bill from Mystic while attending the Mystic Koi Festival or maybe *actually* winning some awards at the first Koi Show I ever entered koi in......but really I'm gonna go the sappy route and the best moments in my koi life are watching the expressions of awe, amazement and happiness on my son's little friends faces when they come over to house and see the koi for the first time. It's even better when you let them throw some food in . Here is a pretty common look on my sons face when he is out checking on the ponds with me.

All of this will be trumped when I get my first GC award however

I would have to say..Winning the judge's award (nice bottle of Sake!!) at my first MAKC show!!! That young shiro utsuri was awesome. It kind of let me know I had a decent eye for koi.

I got one of those as well from Mystic. Small world. You are in Texas and I'm in Virginia and we both buy from Bill in California.

Jim,

Have you ever met Bill ? He's a great guy and proves for most of us there is no substitute for a good dealer..

being kicked off of NI was quite a treat....I had to be brutally honest to get that prestigious title...Koiphen and the koivet kick-offs pale in comparison...as so many have done that...I was almost kicked off of that new british koi board but the board owner posted that if I didn't write posts the way he wanted he'd go change it for me...so I did exactly what he wanted... i guess I wasn't tossed of that board...all I did was say that all the British boards have second-rate software packages and they are difficult to navigate...but i Digress....
being kicked off NI was truly my shining moment
