What do you think? Any comments is greatly appreciated.
The Showa is nice. My only concern is the shoulder area too much white. The way I look at this Showa is like looking at a Christmas tree, not enough decoration in the middle....overall quality is great....

I enjoy koi over which folks disagree.... so much better to learn from.

I do not think this Showa is finished at all. Good, thick Sumi has appeared, but I'm guessing that there is more to come. The Sashi indicates much more time is needed for the Hi to mature. I think folks are reacting to how clean and sharp the color contrasts are in the photo. In person I expect the reds are less bright and there is deep Sumi casting a blue shadow on the surface. As the koi grows, I think the white will make the head stand out, which is the key beauty point on this one.

I saw this one on the dealer's site. It stood out. The contrasts make it a very photogenic fish.

As you know, I was there with you when the fish came in - it's a very impressive fish. Tom thinks it's finished and show ready. I tend to agree that it's at about 90%. That gives you 5 months to get it ready and yes, definitely you should bring it to the show in April.

I think both showas are excellent. I would gladly put the first one (or the second) in my pond. Body and layout are excellent. hard to be critical of the white. They say showa is a black fish. Seems like the white has become strong the past several years. As good as the sankes.

Hey Dinh . . .

Sometimes the whole can be greater than the sum of the parts -- like with this showa. Despite the minor technical "demerits" (mentioned above) this showa is definitely firing on all cylinders.

Would love to see it swiming, in person -- 'cause I bet it just exudes presence. A serious koi IMHO. Don

Here is that showa.

Now this Showa I can appreciate. I saw this Showa when Dinh bought it and I have to say what we told him when it came in...Maruten Showa of that caliber is hard to find. Dinh, I could be wrong but that Showa is from Ogata....
