New Tosai Pix . . .

having recently joined the Koi Kichi & Water Garden Club (in SoCal), I stopped by Eastern Nishikigoi and loaded up on some small calibre bullets for the upcoming November Koi Show -- which we also signed up for.

Yes, buying tosai is like buying Lotto tickets, but it's such fun!

Anyway, here are Ken's mug shots (Note: all six have grown &/or improved since arriving there).

1. 8 1/2" Ogawa sanke:

2. 9" Sakuma showa:

3. 11" Sakuma gin rin showa:

4. 10" Ogawa sanke:

5. 7 1/2" Sakuma kohaku:

6. 14" Maruyama kohaku:

Here are a couple pix of my helpers processing the new arrivals:

While dipping, measuring and photographing, the first picture I took was fine; don't know why the rest of the pix went off so badly? Oh, well.

Long day but lot's of fun:

Any feedback? Please fire away!

Then, we'll just have to sit back and wait for the show to see how they do. See y'all there! Don

With that many lottery tix, you gotta win something! .... The judges are going to have a challenge if a bunch of those Kohaku are entered.

How come you and Frank miss out those baby kohaku ;-))
Well, #5 is a nice one for First in Class....
The body conformation of this #5 can't compare to the "2005 Koi Kichi Baby Champion".........

Your pick is best in size 2... I also love that kohaku just ask Don... How much I love both of the kohaku's..

My pick is closer to Baby GC, Best baby or best in size 1.. I have seen several of the other koi that will be entered in size 1 there are some kick butt size 1 koi... And I don't own any of them

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Actually, this is our first time exhibiting at a show. We've only been "on the journey" for a bit over two years. Very few of the koi in our pond are gosanke. We'll bring some of them to the show, too, but have no idea how they'll stack up against the competition.

Just don't want to embarrass ourselves, our club or our show. Don

Don,
With your new fish you might embarrass, a few of the old timers... You got yourself some very nice fish.. You already know my 2 favorites...
