Angry Flukes

I am curious as to how you would treat Flukes. Every one knows about Supaverm, but is there something else, other than PraziPro that you have used with any success.

PP, but if not continued the eggs will hatch and they'll be right back.
I have used Prazi Pro with good results.

Russ,

The only thing I will continue to use is PraziPond. It dilutes much better in ProFormC and stays in solution for 7 days. At the proper water temperature, that covers the gestation cycle to kill the newly emerging young as well. Performed last treatment in June. On day four, scoped four fish/ten slides and could not find ONE SINGLE FLUKE!!

I have used Supaverm without adverse consequences. But, after reading about instances where experienced koikeepers had their fish suffer "burns" or "sloughing", I decided to use Prazi. I have only used it once. That was over 5 months ago. No sign of fluke problems since. No new fish added in that time either.

(The bad experiences with Supaverm that are occasionally reported are far out numbered by the positive reports. I suspect (but do not know) that where there has been a problem it is because the solution was not thoroughly shaken, with the result that there was an unintentional overdose at the bottom of the bottle....??? At the same time, I am aware of a double overdose that caused no harm. Go figure.)

Superverm at a rate of .7ppm or Prazi at the bottle rate. Superverm at the larger volumes of water (over 2000 gallons).

Have not noticed the scalloping of fin rays some see with Superverm.
