What are the most informative koi Seminars you have been too? Besides Wetlabs..

What would you like to see at a show to benefit you and your hobby?

Steve Childers' talk on creating proper currents in a koi pond is a great one if you've not heard it. Or, JR (on most anything)because he has great powerpoint photos to illustrate everything he says.

I would like to have a lecture with photos (if not live fish)on the different types of Hi and Hi development from tosai to maturity. Now, who would be brave enough to give the talk????

Mat McCann gave a pretty good one last year about sanke and matsonosuke bloodlines and development.

JR talking about skin quality was up there.

Seminar? Dont care much for them....They should rank seminars by level and content of what is being learned. What I find is "Newbies" coming out even more confused. Most seminars nowadays are tended more towards new hobbyist. Mr. Fujita had some interesting seminars and I think for one to be successful there should be live examples to best get ones opinion across.

I think the best seminars are after the shows, with the guys out drinking. You will learn more in a hour from these guys then you will ever learn at a seminar.

Oh, one more... How about a seminar regarding KHV virus and how deadly this virus is......

I think no koi show ever do this before. Perhaps, All-Bay April 1 Koi Show shall be the first.... If Larry wants to do this. I can check with my koi buddy, Dr. Sanjiv Kapoor to do a seminar for KHV virus. Sanjiv is an AKCA Koi Health Advisor. I am sure he will be happy to cover this upon request.
