Gotcha Dick. The farther you go tward the head the tighter each zipper tooth gets until the 1st at the front ate one. There should be two perfect rolls of zipper teeth, right?
Now looking at Jim North's, does the red color on the sides need to match to be perfect? or can one side have more color than the other side. Is this side color important for Shusi's?

steve: It always helps to be somewhat symetrical but don't let that get carried too far or you'll never find a shusui your happy with. There is a little give and take with the color

I understand. I know with Kohauku's I like a sharp line between the colors more than a centered pattern.
