Pond construction

As all of you know my ponds would not hold water so I had to line the ponds. This spring I am going to spawn one set of momo parents. My question here is what do I need to do as I did not put mud on top of liner and can not ferterlize the ponds. I want my fry to grow well and be able to provide them with plenty of live foods. How can I go about this without messing up my water? I am going to put filteration to each pond this winter to help with water quality, but what about live foods? Or can I ferterlize the line ponds some?

Hi Judy,

If the ponds hold more than 50 000 gallons or even 20 000 gallons you can fertilize.
Just make sure you fertilize at least two weeks before you add any fry and oxygenate well.
If you use big parents of say over 65cm you could always split the fry or eggs to more than one pond.
How much water do you estimate these ponds will hold?

At least 75,000 when full. I cant say for sure but this should be close.
