I once saw them schooling where a rice field was draining into an adjacent river. They meandered around very much like koi in a pond.

hello all my old friends from boards far away, in time and space.

Hey Carl,

There is a Yacht Club out here that has some huge carp, that are always in a school. Out on the rivers around here, you almost never see a carp on the surface, other than one doing the occasional jump.

Carl, you going to the Koi Kichi Show?

they school. I have that experience first hand.

15 years ago, when I went fishing with some friends in st Maurice DeSaint (sp?) in northern Quebec. We were too early and caught nothing. At the end of the day we ran into a huge school of carp, may be in tens of thousand. While my friend were brainstorming on how to catch them, I grabbed a big net, jumped into the river and came up with maybe 500 of them. Those damn carps spawned when I pulled them up. Damn, I sweared I could smell carp on me for about 10 years.
