Classes at Koi Shows

Curious as Koi-Bito member thoughts:

GC "B" - Non-Gosanke GC. Good reward IMHO for showing a jumbo non-gosanke. But should Shiro Utsuris be included? If so good ones can really compete for GC and GC "B". Varies by club I think?

Ginrin "A" and Ginrin "B". Club call again I guess, but you often see Shiros placed in "A", even though the same club may put regular scaled Shiros up for GC "B". Where should they go?

Goromo/Goshiki. In same class or separate. I think separate. Argument is that if you give Bekko a class then Goromo and Goshiki certainly deserve one.

I'll not get into the 'right" or "wrong" of it. In a competitive show, Shiro Utsuri is not likely to prevail over Gosanke; and if a GC-B is created, the Shiros are odds on favorites to take it every time. It becomes a "Really the Best Shiro" award. But, as soon as the level of competition steps down a bit, as is true at nearly all U.S. shows, it is open season.

.....
I think we should not have GC "B" at all. We should not discriminate any koi class. Any greatest koi with geatest quailty at the show that deserve to hold up the GC title, then let it be. I love kohaku, but I think it is not fair to award GC to gosanke only.

P.S. Same as for human kind too;-))

Thanks,
