Luke it's a grapagoi or a shitagoi, one of the two and so is the pic. That one needs to be culled

hoochikuchibeni?

Different pattern than you usually see on a lipstick. Does the grape-cluster edge pattern usually remain stable or does it fade out? I've never seen one tracked over time to know how they develop.

Pretty interesting Kohak Luke. Shiroji is very nice on the fish, pattern is funky and interesting...Grow it out to see how it turns out..

Oft times with multiple steps, it takes longer for all the steps to finish properly.

My advice is if you are attracted to this koi then be prepared to hang on to it for several years.

I feel it's slender build indicates a long rangy male. I think I'd feel better about hanging on to something like this koi if I could see a better body shape

I agree with Dick, I would be surprised if it was not a male. Interesting pattern, not quite balanced, but if you have the room......

Mr BB,
yep, in the pic I see 'em, but in the pond I do not.
And I wonder why THIS one stands out in the school....probably if it is male it is finishing early, but then it was mentioned that many-stepped koi finish later.....
i do enjoy it, so maybe next year we'll see another pic.....
