Inazuma Gin rin Kohaku

You guys didn't throw rotten vegetables for posting that first funny looking fish so here's another.
these all will be from the same flock spawning that accord during the hurricanes about 14 months ago...i got about 150 total fry from the spawn and just kept them all...A very odd assorment....but hopefully I am not wrong in my personal assessment that some of these are worthwhile

This kohaku piqued my curiosity, impressive shape and size, must have strong organs enabling koi to eat considerable amounts of food.

Not bad for a flock spawning! ... and better than a lot that were intended. Length? Guess as to parentage?

The parents were from the prolific line of "UNK"....I put my "B" team in the unfinished "Lakeluke" even though it only hold 18 inches. I had to because I had too many koi in the 3500 QT and KNEW the electricity was going to go out during the hurricanes..it did for more than a week (11-12 days? felt like a couple of months). The "B-team" was a mix of Koi i got from Joe-Blackwater Creek and some japanese Non-culls that a buddy had an inside track to...
If I had to guess which koi showed the most fertility it would probably be a ginrin Armor-scaled Showa male....but there were 20=30 fish in there?????

BTW these are all "small" fish from that spawn. This and the first one are probably 8-9 inches. Some of the better koi were put in lakeluke at the end of June. They were put in there because they were too large to fit through the holes in my Monster koi net. One of them is over 16 inches. Others are 12+inches and have some snappy shapes and patterns.
(I am building a seine. so maybe I'll get some pics of them eventually)

I am catching these out of the QT so I will have room for some other better koi from a really good breeder. ( I hope he has time to read KB.)

Query: Have you got a plan for catching unwanted fish in Lake Luke? Unless you are very strict on knowing for certain that every fish is the same sex, there will be spawnings. It takes a long time to catch fish in my comparative puddle. I've not worked out a technique that allows me to take less time, even with a helper & a seine. But, at least I can start with the seine at one end and gradually corral them at the other end.

I just bought 40 yds of 4ft wide 1/4 inch netting off of Ebay. I got it for $50. i thought it might be good stuff...and it is.
The woman that thinks she is married to me will cut it in half and then sew the two halves together lengthwise...
i got enough floats...Crap! you reminded me..i gotta go to Ebay and get a bucket of lead weights.

and I've played with a few different containers and seines at joe's....

KFG,
remember when I told you to keep some from every type of collor and pattern that you have? Well none of my fry showed any hi until they were 4 months old and some of them still have hi coming in. You can see it under the white.
I think YOU of all the people might enjoy seeing the other ones...if and when i catch them.....
I'll see if I can find a couple of the fry group shoots from last year for you......

KFG,
the doitsu chagois with the real bad body conformation turned out to be frogs...the rest don't look worth a damn, do they.

Looks to me like some of them turned out quit well. And yes I would love to see the pic and a lot of those fry look just like mine. I am learning and it would be of great help for you to post the pics and let me know what it looked like when fry. I am sure it will come in handy when it comes time for me to do my culling with my good parents.

I cant wait, get them pic up luke
