Question Koi waterway

Hi im about to build pond number two and wondering if anybody has thought about connecting both ponds by sum sort of swimway, made from perspex so you could see the fish swimming across? Any ideas or if you have seen this done please reply.

Aestheticly I was thinking about connecting my converted swimming pool to my new old koi pond 10 feet away with a stream. I decided to keep two individual ponds so if I have an out-break if one occured, it would
not contaminate both ponds. Plus I am putting good koi in one and turkeys in the other for pampering indulgence reasons. I do not know if the clear plastic connection would be noticed from a dorsal view of stream.

how often do you think these koi are going to "shoot the tube"?

And I have no imagination of making a clear tube below grade look attractive in a garden

An Idea that has been done in the Aquarium industry, Smaller scale no doubt.

My concerns would be Debris settlement and also Algae that forms on wall of tube. So then your waterway has no more visual benefits and adds another area to clean.

Just some thoughts...

if your ponds are above ground, you can build a water way with window. see this pond to get some idea http://photobucket.com/albums/y63/Koi38/?start=40 it looks pretty cool, imo.

if you ponds are both in-ground ponds, what's the purpose of having the underground swimway when you can only see top view? unless you plan to build underground view room. it's over killed for koi, imo.

if you really want to spend serious money, check out what they have at the rainforest cafe restaurants. two hugh cylinder tanks on both side of the restaurant entrance connected by huge overhead clear waterway for viewing fish swim between the two tanks.
