it has been running 24/7 for 2 days, and I have only had it for a week.

Mistreed,
amps (7) multiplied by volts (115-120) equals watts
so 800+/- watts

Duh,
110 volts x 7 amp = 770 watts or 25.9 gallons per watt

What's that Luke - 2 feet of lift? Why are you making the poor pump work so hard? Why not run with 3-4 inches of lift, use sheet flow to get the aeration/gas exchange and increase the flow.
