JG: I know I got stiffed, it could have been a very profitable venture Im anxious to see what you can come up with. I tried to get other pump manufacturers to develop something along this line and got no takers. The idea has progressed a long way from the $5 trolling motor that I started out with.

I think this style of motor has great potential for big savings in electrical usage, as well as allowing people to build bigger koi ponds and still get a decent turnover rate through the filters.

Bubbled bottom drains are nice, but having that much flow actually go through the drains is awesome.

Misread your post greg, thought you had some takers. Not sure about your bd concern. The reality is they can also have one heck of a skimmer.

Plus, this in no way stops folks from having bubbles rising from their drains. They can bubble to their heart's delight, have cleaner bottoms (Lord knows some of em could use that), and have better filtration, less pump failures, and more turnover, and higher volume waterfalls.

I had plenty of buyers, just not any pump manufacturers willing to try their hand at developing a similar pump. I will PM you some specifics.

Yes, this pump could make one heck of a skimming system as well. I have an extra 4" lines near the surface of each of my settling chambers just for this purpose.

JG you think Bickal gave them some decent PR ...You should have seen what I was writing...i got PICKLE to buy one!

Know you are showing some knowledge when dealing with the vane aspect but I am of the opinion that an appropriate bowl is really needed...and please make one that works best at 5ft of head so Porous Media Showers can be most beautomous

LOL That's the goal Luke, a beautomous shower pump that runs at low watts and turns even more massive volumes at lower heads for nexus/waterfall combos and normal submerged or settlement/vortex style filtration. I had this image pop into my head today I can't shake of the internals of a huge vane compressor for a massive 3500 ton chiller. Interestingly, it was a low pressure system that had to move massive volumes of refrigerant, that design was chosen for it's incredible efficiency and durability.

JG,
Knock yourself out....

But the only aspect that would be difficult to fabricate will be the motor...i think finding a kick butt-energy efficient motor somewhere between .75 and .25 HP.
And then marry a prop and fabricate a bowl that makes it peak at 5-6ft.... the energy-efficiency of the motor is Primary....
