I just bought this koi today. It is 12" and bred in the USA by Blackwater Creek...purchased at comets to koi in Connecticut. Let me know what you think its future will hold. I know this is a tough type of koi to predict, but I wasn't going to pass it up for $75.
Hard to keep a koi that is constantly re-finishing itself true enough, but the fun of having a new koi with every change of the seasons has its own appeal. Especially at such a good price
LOL!!! So did my wife. Comets to koi is selling 260 gallon fiberglass tanks for $150. I went and bought one to add another filter. Going to make a green machine type of thing...only bigger. Saw this guy and couldn't resist....as usual.
Step one:
My name is bob and I am an addict....lol!!!
Not sure why I always am drawn to be the boo bird on certain varieties and stages of development? I'm really not a mean guy in 'real life'. I guess I should keep my mouth shut and let people enjoy the moment? But where is there a responsibility to give a heads up to the beginner and the consumer? I'm just not sure--
My kid, not sucha kid any more actually, always wanted yet another kitten. I tried desperately to convince her that 'kitten' was just a stage and that 'kitten' would be 'young cat' is just a matter of months. Never did reach her with that message- we have three very large cats by the way, and a very stinky litter box!
Should I say something here on this thread? You tell me--

Why not??? We're all here to exchange ideas and learn from each other aren't we? This is a variety I find attractive but have no personal experience with. A little experienced commentary on the finer points of what to look for in a tosai and how to at least try to read the tea leaves would be appreciated

Is that really a Beni Kumonryu?
Beni Kumonryu is a black and white scaleless koi with red. But I see
it has kind of light blue and zipper too.
BTW, I think $75 is to expensive for me for it ...;-))
