my 2 cents:
- kohaku B: beautiful snow white shiroji but my gut feeling says this koi's belly will not take well to heavy feeding.
- sanke E: nice tsubo sumi but first hiban too big compared to the smaller patches behind it, i find that distracting. i have a gut feeling this koi won't grow very large. big tummy, small tail joint, pointed head.
- sanke F: nice big head but the pattern doesn't do anything for me (don't like the way the ipon-hi stops so far from the tail). i'm also concerned with the thin tail joint.

i really like kohaku C. i trust the yellowish tinge on the shiroji is a lighting effect? the beni looks great and the pattern is a nice big fish pattern imho. body/head shape very nice. if it were for my pond this would be the one i'd take a shot at.

just my opinion.

Yes Joy, once again I do agree with you for Kohaku C. I'll have her nearly soon. And for the rest, yes they have thin ozutsu but I don't know next because three of them are still small as just entering nisai.

Cheers,

I agree pretty will across the board. I probably like F a bit more than you do, (although the tail stop is way short) but that is just a matter of personal taste. The photo lighting seemed off on C to me as well. Even the blue tub seemed to have a yellowish caste to it. Would be nice to see a clean photo of this big bodied koi.

C and F have good conformation. I agree C looks yellow, but that might be the lighting. I like the pattern a bit better on B as opposed to C and B will keep its color as it grows. B has a lot of potential IMO. How old and how big is C? its a bad photo and it almost looks doitsu becasue of the lighting. the sumi on F is more finished then E. The hi on the eyes of E is distracting.

I want to say C is the best because of the superior conformation to the other three, but would need to see a better photo.

Hi Surfhead,

I'm really sorry the pic of Koi C was distorted by lighting effect. This is another photo of Koi C taken with my camera. Not clear enough but we still can see the her shiroji and hi quality. She is about late nisai and her size about 43 cm. She is a momotaro koi.

Cheers,

Maybe not the best picture, but the yellowish tinge is gone. That is more in line with how I thought the kio would REALLY look. Nice body, and even though the pattern may not be "exciting" it is a very smooth and attractive kohak.

shiroji is much better there. Still can't get a read on the beni as the scales still appear doitsu (except for the shashi) but it seems even with good color and excellent conformation.

Yes, C is my choice of the 4 koi.

The pattern on Koi C is as beautiful a pattern as I have ever seen. The white wave being mirrored and seeming to dance with the other wave absorbs my attention.
I couldn't have drawn a better pattern...

i didn't like any of the others near as much.

C is the best out of the lot and yes the pattern is beautiful, moves gracefully down the length of the koi and the shiro is also good, very clean koi.
