Koi food and waste

It seem like some koi foods leave a lot of waste in ponds. What foods do seem to see more waste out of?

in my experience, saki hikari High Growth creates the most waste in the pond. also leaves an oily layer in the surface.

I have come to the conclusion that this is also dependent on the type of water condition hard, soft ect........

I have found that Dai Suki growth leaves lots of waste when used on its own and can also make the water cloudy in small water volumes at high fed rates.

The new hikari saki food....I fed it to my baby asagi's heavier than I've ever fed before in all my life and the waste from just that food was 2/3rds less than the food I had been feeding just prior ( hikari staple). Chris C who posts here found a bag for me and i have been feeding it ever since. It's certainly not inexpensive
but the results for growth with less waste was impressive.

We all need to keep in mind we should our fish for the time of year it is. Fall is now and feeding wheatgrem once a week is what I am doin. There will be waste but how much waste is up to you. Ogata wheatgrem and sweet potato pellets is my mix for winter. This mix helps maintain the body shape without making my fish look bloated. We must note that the less waste that is produce during fall goin into spring the less likely hood of any problems happening for a new growing season.
