Jump filter

I was reviewing my copy of issue no. 5, and in the article profiling Mr. Kaneko they make reference to the Endless bio filter, and Jump filters installed on his pond. From what I can tell the endless filter is a jmat filter bay that is equal in size to the pond it is attached to. But what are Jump filters? I see reference to the filter being preasurized so does that mean it's the Japanese equivalent of a bead filter?

My guess, could it be the filter was jump started with bacteria from another source?

Looks like a very large bead filter to me. It looks like it has 4" lines running in and out of it. I think about 6' tall as well. They also say ro-1 and ro-2 on them so maybe they do some water softening or conditioning as well?? I don't think the bio chamber is as large as the pond. I think its just labeled 150 ton so you know which bio chamber the pond is for in the diagram. Notice the 70 ton bio chamber is right above it.
