They just opened last week, and CNN did an interview with the guy who financed it with $200,000,000 of his own money (founder of Home Depot). They tried to hammer him on the homless issue, (why didn't he give the money to them instead of building an aquarium and why aren't the admission prices lower). He DONATED the money, and the aquarium (owned by a non-profit trust) and they want to pick nits about how he chooses to give away his own money.
Hmmmmmm... Lets see, his money, his property, his life, his choice. What to do What to do??? Give it to street people, the vast majority of whom will either drink it, shoot it, huff it, smoke it, or shoot it

,... or build the worlds largest reef aquarium to be enjoyed by millions...

Tough call.
Of course there was no mention of his other charitable efforts, (like support for shelters, etc...)
