Club Christmas Parties

was kind of looking to see how other clubs celebrate the holidays. We co-erce
a poor unsuspecting member/dealer to open up her house and then everyone brings a dish. The club buys a ham and then we have a $20.00 gift exchange.
kinda low key but relaxingly social!

Always a pleasure to see and talk with you...maybe we can meet at your club during the year...I bet I could talk about a few koi related subjects...or you and I could have a gig? Ideas...are the name of the game. Let me know...

Our club's been invited to be part of a larger party which will be this weekend. Unwrapped presents about twenty bucks for the Lion's club. A LOT to eat and a bunch for those who drink. A little bit of hootin and hollerin, not that I condone any of that. I'll be the one with the copy of Koi Kichi , splainin things to the uninformed and differentiating between centrifigal and centripedal. No place for punch in my world.

Well, Dick, you're making me feel bad ... I'll be missing our local club's holiday meeting for the second year in a row. Gotta work to pay for the hobby! ... One of our members who has a very nice collection of quality koi has volunteered to repeat as the host. There will be a pig roast, lots of exotic and not too exotic foods, and much good cheer ... all with three wonderful ponds in different styles. Attendees can examine just about all the heavily-hyped types of filtration systems and see the results before their eyes. It is a very generous thing this member does and all who have not visited before are awestruck.

We get a bit heated on the boards at times. But, face-to-face, there is no more comfortable a group of people to hang around than koikeepers... including the watergardeners among us. Maybe next year I'll not miss the festivities.

Well, I had 1 Bonsai Club meeting last weekend. The sensei taught grafting and then we feasted. It was really good to do and hang out. Most of the time its all on Bonsai..

I have another Bonsai Club I belong too. They are having an Auction of any Bonsai related Items. Again I get to chow down but I have a feeling my wallet is going to be a bit light at the end of the day..
