screen name vs multiple personalities

Its fine to create a screen name and its wise not to give out too much personal info on the internet. I don't think anybody could trace me down, all I have posted is my first name and the city I live in. (except for vendors I have bought from)

The problem is when one person creates multiple screen names with different personalities and then has arguments with themselves on a thread for their own personal amusement.

This is way too weird for me guys. Paranoid, cryptic or just plain dishonest, I'm sure anonymity provided by false Identity gives the user a sense of control and ‘power over others. That is why 45 year old pedophiles say they are 14 year old boys on teen websites , for instance. At any rate, as I said, way too weird for me. To the people on here who I actually know in real life- see you on one of the other boards—

sorry to hear Chagoi was robbed. I've been broken into and had my house robbed 4 times now.

It's a horrible experience!

interesting time in history that we live....course Robin Hood used to take from the rich to give to the poor......
Actually, Robin Hood robbed the tax collector and gave it BACK to the poor.
Protecting your idendity from thieves is one thing, but adopting a false identity in order to deceive is another thing entirely. Some people adopt an assumed name and an "alter-ego" in order to say things they'd never say as themselves. IMHO if it isn't good enough to say in the open it probably shouldn't be said in the dark either. My nic is PapaBear because KFG thinks thats what I sound like when I talk , but my true identity is in my profile because I'm not ashamed to have my remarks assigned to me.
BTW, just because your a little paranoid it doesn't mean they aren't really watching you

I agree with this as well. It's one thing to not divulge too much info and have a name for yourself (like Surfhead ) It's another to give out a bunch of false info and make yourself out to be somebody else entirely. That's not protecting your personal info...that's lying and only needed when you are not very satisfied with you are in the real world.

Hi, I'm Melissa. 24 y/o, busty blond with a PhD in basket weaving. I live in Paris and speak fluent Tagalog.

I chose King Kong because I like blondes, it was one of the greatest fantasy films ever, I felt sorry for Kong's demise and I was reared in close proximity to a 350 lb. Gorilla named Bulu.

I figure if you don't use your real name then you don't want to be taken seriously and there is no reason to try and Know anything about the fictitious character/child.
People that need to hide, hide. People that are realists and want to be open and honest don't commit such a cowardice act the moment they sign onto a board...

Folks,

Anomynity is fine for online role-playing games, but I think in the relatively small koi world that they only thing they accomplish is breeding mistrust and causing general malady.

Now, I know who most of you are as I have your IP addresses and confirmed mail addresses (which I don't share with anyone by the way, so don't ask), but the majority of our community here feel uncomfortable with anomynity.

If you're going to post anything that's somewhat controversial, please don't hide behind an anonymous name stir the pot.
