Carl, on those dump trucks you don't have to turn them on their side to empty them.

On this barrier island it is nothing but flat...I think I have the highest elevation within four miles either way...I'd take more if I could.

Here in the Netherlands, you officially need a statement that the soil on your premises is clean, before you can sell your house or remove the soil somewhere else. Since most people do not want to go through the costs of getting the soil sampled and tested because of it's high price, we have to pay to get rid of the soil.

I paid to get rid of it. Pppffff, 50ton pond, 15ton quarantine and in ground filter room. Used some of it to level the garden and then some to create a mount for the waterfall. But there was still plenty of it left to be removed.

By he way, I did things Arse backwards. I dug the hole and put the dirt in my driveway... I went on vacation for a month only to return to the worlds biggest cat litter box. Well I rented a rock box dumpster/Skip and had to reload it. can you say that I dug my pond twice.. Yeah pretty much..

Do yourself a favor before you dig. Have a good plan or rent one of those dumpsters or else you do it twice.. Luckily a kid loading a big shovel tractor was loading it and bringing it back to the rentals and my wife sweet talked him into making a quick 30 bucks.. 10 yards were left in my driveway after many people took loads and it was gone in about 15 minutes..
