Ponds are frozen, about 24" of ice with 2' of snow cover..... not worried as all the koi are inside sitting at 68F

Wait...where is my parka? Here in Thailand, we are in the middle of a cooler than normal winter.

My pond's temperature is ~ 74F

Pond temp is 51.5 F degrees in our covered koi pond. 39 degrees F in the uncovered pond.

2 pictures of the 2 ponds - one when we were getting snow a week ago and as it is this much warmer Christmas Eve.

Koi in the covered pond. Goldfish and lilies in the uncovered pond.

Merry Christmas to all on KB!

Poor Nancy! You have my sympathies.

I had no idea water froze at 60 degrees in California. But then....... there are a lot of queer happenings in California!!!!!

lol-
yeah, in PR they break out the parkas if it drops under 70. They literally stand outside rubbing their shoulders and fake shivering going 'It's sooo cold.'

I just shake my head and walk past in my shorts, sandals, and sleeveless-t shirt.

OT but a funny short story about visiting beautiful California in January a few years ago. We drive up Mulholland drive and are standing looking over the ravines/mountains etc and a local Dressed in sweats and a jacket, comes up looks at our ford mustang with the top down and us in shorts and says "What part of Canada are you all from?"
