a personal thank-you to Brian

I think it appropriate on my 2000th post that I acknowledge the creator of the KB board and magazine . Thank-you Brian for providing us with fun, entertainment and education in each of our lives on a daily basis.

I would never have had the opportunity to have met so many wonderful koi people from around the world without your efforts.

Your ability to bring us a really educational publication is appreciated by all stages of those advancing in the hobby.

I wish you continued growth and sucess in the new year and most of all lots of time off with your girls. ( they grow up way too fast!) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank-you again! for all you do on our behalf!

LOLs.

Hey Brian, how about telling us what it is like celebrating Christmas in Japan? I know Tokyo gets into it as a gift giving holiday but what about in the rest of the country?

Well, it's not so different for us here, except for the fact that Christmas day and eve aren't holidays. Christmas eve here is pretty much only a day that couples book dinner reservations in fancy restaurants. Merchants take full advantage of the holiday now, and kids usually get presents in much the same spirit as their Western counterparts do. Little if any religious signifigance is assigned to Christmas here though.
