Talking Underwater Cam Idea....

OK lets see who's as obbessed as i am! Sitting around here thinking about my pond & I get this idea that since my TV on the ground floor of my house is pretty close (20ft) to my pond that I could set up a pond cam. I looked online at submersible color Cams & figure i can connect it to the input of my TV & see my Koi. It would be a great way to see the fish & observe them in various conditions. Plus on many days I work at home & i could just have them on my TV as i work & check out my fish when i want to. Anyone out there have a pond cam set up? All those that think I'm nuts...SAY SO.....all others that think this is a great idea ADMIT IT!! LOL

Pond camera's have been used here in Holland, Belgium and Germany for quite some years now. A few years ago they were the hype. Nowadays here in Holland it is pretty modern to have your pond raised out of the ground and put in a window.

The positive from both is that they will allow you to watch your koi from the side and see their bottom part as well. This will aid in recognizing injuries etc in an early stage.

Check the Koiphen site and see if you like what you see.

And I'll plug one of this site's sponsors...Keirin Koi sells a cam. If you get a set-up from them, they'll provide advice over the phone. (Or so I was told by a fellow who got one a year or so ago.)

I have 3 cams on my ponds right now. One is submerged. One is on the Q-tank. The last is aimed at my other pond. Pretty nice as I can see them from work.

Attached pic is a sample from earlier today (mine is hooked up to a dvr so it records).

this is cool. I think it would be a nice gift idea for koi pond owners. Can you provide the maker/model of the camera you are using as well as info on where to purchase. tia!

Keirin koi has a pond cam package that I've seen in action at their shop. It's well worth a look.
