Original members???

Here's a trivia question for everyone ~ Who are the first 10 members of this board and when did they sign up?

Erwinsan, did you save data from the original software version of the board? If so, you must have quite an attic full of mementos!

When software changes occurred two+ years ago everyone had to re-join... Dec. 10, 2003. Other than site admin folks & Brian, the first person to re-join was HenryC, followed by: gknight, Maleri, Arthur, JasonS, Theron, philip, Jesse, Stickdog & Bern.

But for the original incarnation, I do not have the data.

(And for those wondering how I got this data, it is all on this site. Just search the member list by join date.)

No, I don't have any of the original data. If you look at my join date, I'm a relative newbie. This was just info I was curious about. I'm so impressed by how much this site has forged new and sustained exsisting friendships. Just wanted to get to know some of the "old timers"

Yes, there are a bunch of "regulars" on the board whom I've never met, but feel I know. They may be "cyber-friends", but friends nonetheless.

Sometimes, however, I get concerned that newcomers may be scared off by the "regulars", with our inside jokes, back references to year-old threads, etc. This is unfortunate. The folks on this board do not say nice things just to be nice, but there is an effort not to blast someone whose learning curve is different. Everyone was a newbie once. Of course, true novices are not likely to have ever heard of Koi Bito and are more likely to be comfortable on a board focused on garden ponds and fishkeeping basics. In many respects, however, the higher level of discussion on the boards that attract more experienced koikeepers will teach more in the long run, and avoid some of the misinformation picked up on the internet. At any one time there are as many or more guest lurkers on-line than registered members. I wish more would speak up, because their questions and observations generally lead to very interesting conversations. We all learn then.
