Fairly Odd Question: Show Tank??

How long can a koi survive in a show tank?... Do they hook up a filtration system and air tube?....

How long can it stay in that tank?.....

And, how many koi per gallon are in these tanks?......

most show officials will assign the number of tanks to a competitor based on numbers and size of thier entrants. Most show tanks hold from 300 to 500 gals depending on size (6-8 footers) These koi receive air and in most cases from the water quality folks chemical binders that control contaminants until after the show. I know Chuck Downs in oklahoma had some trick water treatment processes going but the most I see around the west coast use the same method
using chemicals. This generally gets the koi thru the three days of showing....

many times these tanks have been used by hobbyists to treat sick koi or QT and
a bio filter is attached.

Water quality in the show tanks is monitored and water is changed is needed.
At the Europes largest show in Arcen Holland the show vats are fitted with a febi turbo cleaner to remove protien and foam and water is regularly changed out from a special, above ground, supply (giant rubber lined skip) which is filled a week or two in advance of the show. This water is pre filtered and can be used directly.
The fish are benched Thursday and stay in the vats until Sunday afternoon.

Koi are not feed prior to the show, there is very little to no need for biofiltration. The only thing needed is aeration, for a spring or fall show only a small amount. One US show uses a flow through. The rest usually stay in the same water, unless the hobbiest does not fast the fish, then the water quality person usually has to go to binders and water changes to address issues as needed. You have not noticed air stones from photos b/c they are removed for taking pictures.

Are we talking tanks at shows?

I had all of my koi in a show tank for about two years why my pond was down. I didn't have any problems with them in the tank for that amount of time. It all comes down to good filtration and water qualitys.
