Bscott, the filter system vortex or the DIY one are great. have read about it and indeed it works. Like what James P. said, its best to use the trickle tower or bakki shower system if one is keeping kois in a tropical climate. Here in the philippines, thru the other forum...alot of peeps use it already. Honestly scott, about the sytem you showed me, impressive yet, couldnt really comprehend. hehehehhe alot of new info are going in to my head right now...couldnt catch up with it. Im tryng 1st to go with the basics then I'll go with the complicated stuff. The basics like...a settlement chamber, mechanical filter,biofilter (is this right???) But my pond...with the dimensions (6x3x14 inches...I know its small and shallow) the road is leading to a trickle tower filter...
as of the moment, Im feeding less and tryng to observe my kois. Still dont use my Uv unit yet but water is clear. tom, will try to buy some test kits so i know the real score abt my water quality....
