Peters and Sons Koi Flooded!!

We have a large stream that runs behind our store and with the rain the stream filled up. The stream goes under a bridge and once that opening got clogged with debris we were under 18" - 24" of water. Now we have a lot of debris, mud and damage to our Koi yard. The electrical system is shot, but it looks like all of the pumps will run, so I am in the process of running long cords from the store to the tanks. Some of the filters were undermined and need to be fixed, but my biggest problem is mud. Is there any one out there, in the Bay Area, that can offer some help in the cleanup. We are in really bad shape! My cell phone number is (925) 787-8562 or PM us. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys,
Just got on koi bito, and I'm about to leave out of town! But I'll be glad to do what I can tomorrow to help out, hangover and all! I will call you tonight or early in the morning to find out from you what you may need. The rain shouldn't come again until the late afternoon tomorrow, or hopefully not. Are you sand bagging the fence line? Call you soon.

Chris G.

Now this is what this hobby is all about, or should be. I wish I could help Russell, but I'm on the other coast. I see from the responses you will have some help, the best I can do is wish you luck.

Thank you for all of your responses via Koi-Bito, phone, and email. Looks like we are going to get a lot of help today. Here are some pictures of the flood.

Outstanding. This is exactly what the koi community is about. I sure hope there is not to much expense to repair the damage. I also hope fish were not lost. We are expecting a "good one" tonight and I know if someone in So Cal needs help many of use will try to be available. Super-GO KOI UNIT.

I am proud and not really surprized that koi people turn out to help each other. For every internet trouble maker that pretends to be a koi lover there are dozens - no hundreds of real koi lovers ready to help each other.

I am standing and applauding right now. Way to go!!!
