Wink I wanna be like Mike

No Goshiki expert here for certain, but #1 gets my vote no contest. Nice body, well balanced pattern, and good color to my personal taste.
As a side note, ABC in that order for body, color, and pattern quality. Hi pattern on B is very attractive and interesting.

Larry, said in a different way but basically what you said.... A,B,C, if i was keeping one of the 3 it would be "B" as body shape is good, the beni is thick and bright and all it needs to do is settle in the black. I love the old style black (batik look) as well as several of the newer styles. Toshio sakai's Goshiki's/koromo's are really nice as well. I can't ever remember owning one....

Well . . .

personally I prefer the old-style look (A & C) but believe current show trend favors the new-style (B).

Hey, does anyone else think that the front rays on koi B's pectoral fins might have been trimmed?

I don't think the leading rays were trimmed. They are not attractive and they take away from the value of the fish.

It's a hard exercise because they are so different. I would guess A, B, C as well. If I had to choose one personally, it would be B. Ever since I saw the 2005 BKKS GC B, I've been intrigued by the lighter kindai goshiki.

well I THINK a judge would go A B C. With "A" definitely getting the nod over the other two.
A has the best conformation, B os close i comformation but the judges would down grade it because of the pectoral rays, C is just too skinny...
While there is variation in the "attractiveness" of the pattern none of them have exceptional color quality/pattern..they all are just about the same in quality..so I voted based solely on conformation
