Sheesh I had no idea this fish is/was a class : Hikarimoyo
breed: a doitsu benizakura ogon & i am glad I asked. I have no problems usually identifying the common varieties & even some of the not so common ones but I think you are 100% correct on your statement about the scale types.

I have learned so much from you all here & I really do want to say thanks for the education. Sometimes people dont want to share there knowledge but I sure have not found that here. Please be patient with my stupid questions. I figure if I dont know, ask....

Just wanted to echo your sentiments about the information sharing attitude of forum members. Some of the threads may get a bit raucus at times , but it's usually just an entertaining diversion . The depth of experience and knowledge on this forum is a valuable asset that we all ought to be grateful for, even when there are disagreements. Added perspective may not always be pretty (like some koi ) but it offers a lot of food for thought.
BTW, it is a very interesting and attractive Koi. I didn't speak up sooner because I had absolutely NO IDEA what to call it
