Experience hobbyist can tell the sex by the clues from the body. I can not tell but have some experience to share:

The fish is male when:

1. Beni is way up. See attached picture.
2. Dealer does not know or forget the sex, even on a nisai.
3. Relatively cheap.
4. Long torpedo male body shape.

Somehow I believe this kohaku is a female but can not quite explain. Angular pec fins? long and lanky body of a female teen? So, anybody know the sex based on body features? MA Le
