Lilhelper,

Well said and many thanks for the positive thinking......

Just a little thing to mention that, "winning" is not the main reason for may koikichi to bring their koi to the show. It is about "koi appreciation" and all about the hobby.

Its your hobby, I think everyone needs to just step back away from that.
The koi hobby is all about the Adventures and trials you go through.
The reason why i am so in love with this hobby is, you can think up anything as a design for your pond, you can make it super unique, or just like anyone elses.
For most people the koi hobby is about this. You all have forgotten what this is about, Imagination, you create your creation(s) from mere fantasy and you have the power to make it into REALITY.

If you are dying from the hobby maybe you should 1. rip down your koi pond, make it better and enjoy it even more.
or 2. Sell your house buy another house and make another koi pond better.
It can even be less difficult, go out to your koi pond Make new things for your pond, rearranging plants, getting rid of all the koi that you have and putting new ones in. Be creative, do something.

And Do not care what the Koi shows have to say about your koi, if you show your koi, The specific koi you brought to the koi show is number 1 in your book, and thats all you should go by, not some weird judges opinion.

you all have simply lost the essence that made you join the hobby, it was mysterious, difficult, and Magical.

And I have come to restore it all for you.

Having a positive attitude for this bobby is a great thing... may I invite you to the first Northern California ZNA chapter meeting?

Best regards,

Hmmm that may sound like a very fun and exciting thing to do?

where is it located? and what time?

I may not be able to go, I have to go to my fathers house in the SFBay area.

But you never know i may be able to attend later events if possible.

Where is it located?

Anyway, I also PM for the details.

Nancy and Mike M

Those are the two most poignant posts I've seen on here in a long time.

Nancy, the way you expressed the same thoughts I've had was succinct. Couldn't agree with you more. I'm also taking a back seat this year with our club-tired of all the politics and BS from people who could care less about shows or really doing anything to support the club when asked. Let's see if they step forward this year for anything!!

I am hoping that are members will step up to the plate. If they do then I will be back in full swing. I love this hobby, and it gives me great joy, to help others and learn from others as well. But it is not a one way street. Politics belong in the White house not in our hobby.

Last night (saturday) we had incredibly strong winds (60+mph gusts) that sent a swing chair into one of ponds three times before I gave up and left it there. Then one of neighbors trees came down and caused the neighborhood to blackout for about 5 hours which was really bad because it knocked out my 700 gallon q-tank that is quite full with koi right now. My old generator was a no start and I didn't really think I had time to take it apart and fix it in the dark so it was off to Home Depot to get a new one. While I was out doing that the wind shredded my plastic and pvc cover for one of my other ponds dumping alot of that right into the pond. So the last two days have been really crappy. But quit? I don't think so. But moving somewhere where it is warmer might be a good idea.
