Darker red centre to scale

When you have better beni quality, the beni will eventually consist of multiple layers of color. The next layer to come up will start from the centre of the scale, and looks like a starlike darker red.

I have been searching, but can not find a name for this phenomenon. Is there anyone that can tell me the name?

A deep red spot in the centre of each scale from head to tail of the koi is a character to Tomoin Kohaku linage. It is called " Hoshi " meaning star. From the age of 3-4 and onwards this type of Hi gets really thick and when finished is a beautiful bright red. Tategoi Kohaku can be looked over for posing this type of Hi, because at a young age the koi's Hi plate can lack uniformity of the Hi. But as mentioned earlier the koi excells at 4 years of age and onwards.
