32 percent protein is just fine. Can't comment on the food itself.

just like shoes...one size does not fit all sizes of feet. I feel Hikari is a good name in koi food. 32% would be good for spring or fall as their metabolism and needs are diminished with lower temperatures. When summer rolls around and you heat your pond or allow mother nature to get it over 68 F, that percentage of protein content is not gonna hack it. If you want serious growth you'll want to be up in the lower 40's. Most koi foods have a temperature start up range on the label because different blends meet different needs.

I agree with Dick. As a summer feed I would find 32% protien on the low side. But protein isn't the only fact that one needs to look at. What ind of protein is it, what is the oil content, the amount of carbohydrate and what is the source.

"Economy" sounds fine for winter, like B.Scott said what are the ingredients...But I think as a stand alone food I dont think it is enough for your fish in the summer for growing maybe have to mix something else with it.

I get better results feeding Hikari Wheatgrem than Economy, but like one of the old threads said before not one food can do enough for your fish.

I Always Hear Hikari Wheatgerm Is Better Than Economy. I Don't Understand Why? Because Almost Protien Of Hikari Wheat Germ Are Came From Vegetable. Why The Growth Rate When Using Wheat Germ Is Better Than Hikari Economy?

Hikari Wheatgerm is much more easy to digest,
Protein from vegetable shall be easy to be absorbed.
BTW the amount of protien is not the only one answer,
mineral, vitamins , fat and something else shall be considered.

It's just what the name says, Economy.

So a cheap/budget kind of food. The ingrediënts used are of lesser quality than used for the more expensive types of Hikari food. So it has nothing to do with the lower protein content, just lesser quality.

quality is like buying oats....
if you want good clean top grain you must pay a fair price for it...

BUT....

if you would be satified with oats that have already gone thru the horse...
they come a little bit cheaper!
