Why aren't there more minorities in the judging ring?

Why aren't there more minorities in the judging ring? I just had to ask this question, because there doesn't seem to be enough of a mix in culture when in comes to judging.

I don't think there is any particular reason. There are koi shows in many countries. Many cultures are involved, although the orient is at the forefront. I really think it is a hobby that can be open to anyone...although some spare cash seems to be a prerequisite.

Yes.

As a matter of fact I know this year Joachim, also called Jay, from 't Viske in Belgium, will be judging.

Smile

If one charges $ 2600 for a crown and root canal, it seems to allow a little left over spending money for koi shows. LOL Not knocking it, just spending it.

First we should look at us..how many of us are a "minority"? If there aren't many minorities in the spawn their won't be many kept over to be sold as three year olds....

But now you made me think...we are white guys in a white world with a yellow hobby....black guys live in a white world and a black world and perhaps they have enough colors to keep them busy.

Asians are a minority right? lol. Or are us whities enough of a minority?

While in GB I took a pic of a judging team..there was a Middle eastern male, an African male....and even a woman.

There are but they are invited to judge and you have to be a professional to judge the All-Japan Shinkokai Show.
