Goldfish and KHV?

Goldfish and KHV...who regulates this with the pet shop trade...or who regulates this period? To think you could be feeding KHV infected feeder goldfish to your snakes or other fishes...

Goldfish do not get KHV (aka CGNV).
There is another herpes virus which goldfish do get which does not affect koi... CyHV-2

... but both koi, goldfish and other cyprinids can get Spring Viremia of Carp (SVC) in temperate regions. In some respects, SVC is worse than KHV and it has caused some pretty massive kills of wild fish in recent years. It affects so many species that it can move rapidly through the environment.

SVC is "notifiable" in the U.S. meaning, among other things, that the gov'ment will step in and make sure survivors are put down and the system is cleaned up. I'm not sure if it is still notifiable in Europe. The only reason KHV is not also "notifiable" is that it is now so widespread that the powers-that-be thought it was too late to stop its movement. The funny thing is that SVC can be traced back to the ancient Romans, but KHV was only recently described.
