Steve,
I believe mine is the same as yours. There is a stopper, of sorts, that keeps the inlet water from directy crossing over to the out put side, so that the water through the UV chambers. Here's a pic. Mine have 2" in and out.

Got it, you bought the 80 watt unit, I bought two 40 watters. That's the difference. Mine were not glued together.

My ammonia is just about down to 0 and I don't want to just keeping adding bottled ammonia so I moved three pond grade fish to the new pond this morning. Here's some pictures. Fish seam to be doing OK so far.

PS -- Don't forget to salt for nitrite 'till your bugs make nitrate.

It's been raining here today so I'm inside. I can see the new pond very well from the kitchen window and have been watching the 3 fish I just put in. They are very active this morning. Swimming all around exploring. They have checked out the steps, stuck their noses in the skimmer, but thier favorite thing is playing in the waterfall. They have been in it several times while I was watching. They seam to be happy, me too.
