From what I have gathered on it Brad, it's not as bad as you think, certainly KoiZyme stands to benefit from making them look bad for it, is one cautionary word, and I know the next line is how long you have known him etc etc. Don't waste yer breath, everyone is self interested to some extent. Even though he is probably a great guy, probably best tot alk to sources other than him about it. It's like asking a democrat about a republican or vice versa, probably not the most objective source.

My understanding based on reading on it in various places, including forums, over the last weeks and months is that the goal may be to target aeromenas that are in the pond, water, and filtration system, by getting it into the waste. My view was the effect was not to 'medicate' the koi, but to use it as a passive vessel to send the Lymozyme to get it where it is most needed, where the poop and excess food congregates and gets lodges, which makes sense to me.

I think it would be helpful if more info were available about how the process of putting it into a feed affects both the koi and the Lymozyme.

If poop is where it's needed

If you want Koizyme to end up where the poop is, it would be way more effective to just add it weekly to your pond.

The redline meets the blue line and then the yellow line goes over the two to form a red line......

KoiPoop!

The way I've followed the "Lymnozyme" saga was...
A guy found out what thye give to trout so the trout can be raised in dense populations for food. the guy took That ORIGINAL product and attached the "lymnozyme" label to it...thing is the guys he was getting his "Lymnozyme from had control of the name...so when this guy finds the Real Source of this "lymnozyme" and cuts out the other original middleman, the original middleman tells him he can't use the name...so the name was changed and the product remained the same ...although without the original middleman marking it up...BUT WAIT THE PRICE DIDN"T COME DOWN SO WHERE IS THE OTHER MIDDLEMAN'S MARK-UP GOING???????
And as to "Lymnozyme bacteria outcompeting the aeromonas bacteria; Can you explain how it dies off after it outcompetes aeromonas yet can't maintain a viable population on a continuous diet of koi pooh? Ya can't and that is why the house of cards falls down....i asked the guy to tell me why the Lymnozyme bacteria can't remain at a stable population in a koi pond; he didn't have an answer, "Did I tell you about the Red line?"
Well the answer is...if one dose works I can't make much money so I am telling you it takeds "maintenance oses' so you need more of my product.

then again IF the real ingredient in "Koinozyme" is just an enzyme that boosts the growth of an existing organism within the biosphere of a pond, THEN continuous doses would be of benefit. Or if the Koinozyme" was a magic bullet/chemical that just actually killed the aeromonas .....i hope I didn't give anyone a new merchandising angle.

Thumbs up

I do not know anything about the effects of adding Lymnozyme/Koizyme to food, but there are a lot of research and publications done on "probiotics".

Probiotics is an interesting approach.

Now a "wow that would be cool?" thought concerning putting Koinozyme on a pellet food....
Noone expects The "bacteria" to live after going through the koi's digestive tract, well at least I don't....but what if these guys are smarter than we think ( god i hope so) and they actually put the bacteria on the outside of the pellet and when the pellet hits the water the bacteria seeds the water And therefore is availble to eat the koi poop coating when the poop goes through the koi...
Imagine how well that would work!!! a constant reseeding of the magical bacteria in direct relation to the amount of food given thereby the correct amount could be dosed for the volume of poop to come out in a matter of hours and it could also eat the previous meals poop.... And the Hobbyist doesn't have to measure or remember or actually perform another task....a perfectly innoculated Koinozyme pond....
I should write for these guys!

The ZNA Socal club had their meeting last month at Rowland's house (owner of Dianichi food/Toyoma Koi), and his daughter and her husband gave a talk about food. It was quite detailed, and they seemed very knowledgeable. Although I'm a tad skeptical, I don't think they'd go thru the BS+expense in adding anything to their food unless there was at least potential. Since Rowland and Yoko and family are pretty nice people, my jury is still out. But unless there's data, we're the lab rats.
