Show Tank question . . .

Anyone know who makes these show tanks? Doesn't look like a Pearls of Paradise rig.

Don those are made in Japan, also China makes one that looks just like it. Eastern just got some in, pretty nice, they have a 6,8,10 footers...

Do you know if Eastern is going to start carrying them on a regular basis? I like the idea of competition for show tanks as the Pearls of Paradise tanks have gotten just too expensive (and no club discounts anymore either). I also like the exposed ring. Anybody that has set up a large number of Pearls tanks knows just how much of a pain in the butt the enclosed ring can be.

Hi Henry,
I am pretty sure they will be carrying them now, you would need to email Ken enkoi@enkoi.com or call him at (714)890-1989 for the pricing. I agree Pearls has the monopoly on the market and a little competition will help, I am pretty sure the pricing is much better on these, even though they have to be imported. And the exposed ring is so much easier to assemble.

Thanks, Nancy . . .

once again you've scooped the pack!

Will pop over to Ken's and inspect them up close and personal. They do look like they'd set up & break down easier.

Here is a photo of the 10" and 1 meter high. The prices are retail, clubs should inquire at Eastern for club discount prices. Dealer pricing also available. Ring is visable on the inside verses the Japanese are visable on the outside.
6 foot $392.50
8 foot $448.00
10 foot $850

Net clips

I used something similar at a show recently. It didn't have those handy clips for the net cover. This caused quite a bit of anxiety as the net cover didn't seem nearly as secure without the clips. I looked carefully at the picture but couldn't see them. Are they there or are there other provisions for securing the cover?

Brian,

Got a question on show tanks. I'm a newbe and have no idea how to post a thumb of one of your personal pics - Momotaro pics 54/cat/507. It shows the hard tanks that Momotaro uses inside the greenhouses. Where do these come from? Are they only available in Japan. They look like bulk shipping containers.
