Well, it's about time someone stepped forward to fill this shameful void. Good for you. I really like that "true Japanese way" part. Brady, Brett, Matt and the rest of their ilk just don't seem to see it the same way you do, I guess?

So, how soon do you expect to be shipping tosai?

Don,

Thanks for the kind words. I do feel kinda out on my own. But nishikigoi are still young in the Americas. Always time for change.

Whoa, whoa ........ I have to first start the spawing. I am shooting for 4-6 inch fish by October and then seeing really what things look like spring 2007. Looking to that Japanese way of selling mainly 2 year olds. And I am very small right now. VERY limited space, but some high potential parents.

Sundan - thanks for the links. I have seen both of those. The best overall information is in the "Encyclopedia of Koi" by Tetra. Gives all the steps and enough info to move forward. Now pond prep - that was a little tougher. And detailed notes on culling varieties - non-existant.

Jeff

Don, what am I missing?

To me that is exactly what they are doing.

They are striding forward, not just aiming to produce 'WallMart' koi.

Maurice.

Stevie Hops is correct: 'Twas tongue-in-cheeky (but I appear to have missed my mark).

Sorry Don, it was early in the morning here and missed the humor!

I hold these guys in high respect, I can't say the same for Steve Hops.
My turn

Maurice.
PS, thanks Steve for the heads up, you're a mate really.
