I thought it was a cute story but before this request slips off the page and for the edification of inquiring minds...She was kidded as a child by her class mates
by distorting her given name of Elizabeth into something they could try and get her goat with. Undaunted, she quickly adopted the name and turned the tables on them.

Back in the day when my kids were born we didn't have a method of knowing whether we were getting a boy or girl so you'd pick two names. I had picked elizabeth holly just in case but mathew michael showed up! My first born was becky and I was thinking if i was lucky enough to get a girl again becky and beth would have a nice ring to it...I've always loved the name.

beth if you catch this thread fill in anything i missed. Glad your part of our board!

I had the pleasure of meeting Beth when she and her son came over to get the sand filter. Pretty neat gal. I'm looking forward to seeing her again. Although I think she talked more about crocheting with my wife than with me about fish. A woman thing I guess. BG We had fun.

I am sitting here with a full scale blush going on. Arthur is so kewl. He told me about bottom drains and rinsing the ick out of old filters onto your new filters.

I was like, yeah Arthur...... but darn he was so right. I have lovely water due to his influence. We spent a lovely afternoon looking at fish. I was so depressed when I got there and quite happy when I left. (with of course three more fish...) Hey they were on sale and only a four degree difference between his tank and my tosai tank.

My son and I had a great time with the Birdman. I can only talk fish for so long though and really enjoyed his wife's crocheting. I crochet on airplanes. Birdwife and I want to go to some national park. We plan to ask too many questions and see if we can get arrested. Why not?? Birdy will bail us out. He had two winning birds.
I wasn't aware that so many people knew me.

Dick, how did you know the Lizardbreath story?? I still really enjoy the name. My daughter's name is Rebecca. We call her Becca. She said when she was very young, "call me Becky and I'll hand you a body part." The two missing front teeth made it especially endearing.

Rod McConkey sold me the first two big lovely fish I ever had. When he bagged them for me I got tears in my eyes. I cried the whole way home I was so happy. I still am really happy with them.

So now you have my story sort of. I love koi. I love growing them out from little tiny koi. If I could find a way to do it, I would have my koi sit on my lap when I watch TV like my lab Puckie does.
