Malaysia Day 1 - Mud Pond Harvest

Hello all,

I'm writing from Kuala Lumpur, here visiting the in-laws. Before I left I contacted Roger Moo who promised me a visit to Malaysia I would never forget, well he delivered on his promise and here are the pics to prove it.

Day 1 (Friday Feb. 10th) - Headed up to the highlands, about 40 min drive from the city to watch Luke Shori and his crew harvest one of his many mud ponds. The koi in this pond were all Go-Sanke, and had been left in for 6 months to grow out. (I can't remember exactly how much growth there was but will ask then come back and update this thread). They were all from various Japan breeders. After the harvest the fish were taken back to Sentul Koi Centre for a closer look.

BTW, there were some famous guests in the audience, lets see how many you can recognize!

Some famous breeders, I'm sure others will chime in. I was so excited about the whole thing that many of the details slipped my mind, maybe Roger Moo or tanSL will chime in to fill in the blanks.

Cool

Dianichi, Maruyama, Nogami and Oomo, did I miss any? looks like a lot of fun and the weather is better than the 3 meters of snow in Niigata.

I already talked to Bob Caruso and he hasn't really gotten back to me on price of mudpond grow out...Well anyways, he has Jason Sargent to help him in his venture of breeding....Maybe you should hook Bob up with Torazo so he can learn the fine art of culling...

What a great assemblage. And koi.

Interesting having the rock along the banks to stabilize.
