Seminar and Grow out Contest Hi All Just thought I'd let everyone know that there will be a seminar and grow-out contest on Saturday March 25th. It will be held at Peters and Sons Koi in Martinez, CA. They have just received a shipment of 50 jumbo tosai kohaku from Maruyama. He is thebreeder of the showa that won GC at the AJKS in 2005. He is world famous for his kohaku bloodline. Burt Ballou, AKCA Judge, will be on hand to give a lecture about how Maruyama bloodline kohaku develop and their attributes. According to Burt, they're the only brand of kohaku in his pond!! Come and join the fun and excitement. If you don't have the web address for Peters and Sons, send me a pm and I will provide it, or just go to the dealers section of this forum for more info! Hope to see many of you there Mike

Anybody who has a chance to participate in this will never regret it. ZNA Southern Koi Association has a Maruyama grow-out project going on now. Folks got their Kohaku last March and will bringing them to the Central Florida Koi Show in 2+weeks. These Kohaku have been cleaning up at the shows around Florida in their size category. I have really enjoyed mine ... she is a "keeper" (even if no show wins). And they have the genes for growth. It convinced me that my next Kohaku will be another Maruyama. (But another grow-out this year, so I may have a Hoshino tosai before I get a new Maruyama nisai! LOL) It would be great if you could do photos, koiczar, and keep us informed of how folks progress.

I thought it will be on Feb. 25 instead of Mar. 25? I like Maruyama. I have one Maruyama Kohaku and love it. Maruyama's color on Kohaku is one of the best. Grow-out contest is another fun thing for all koi hobbyists. We had Marudo's grow-out contest from other local dealer since 2004 and it was so fun and interesting.... Something you shall not miss it..... --Dinh
