You are so lucky Ray for visiting Japan quite often and able to meet many koi gurus. Would you select a nice Mrauyama Kohaku for me next time you go to Japan again ???

Out of the ones that we see well, I like #4 the most. I like the face and the shiroji looks very clean. I have two small concerns the first is that small hi pattern right above the left pec. As the fish grow that spot may move below the lateral line and not impact the view from above. The other small concern I have is that that first hi plate might split. There seems to be a natural break around the left shoulder area.

Out of the others, I really like the pattern on #3. The kiwa seems really sharp. I just wish I could see the head a bit more. It's hard for me to say how much I like a koi with out seeing the head and face because they play such a large role in my personal preferences.

Pix does not show the entire head of #3. Here is another shot for #3 and #2 for viewing.

Well, I'd call #6 the fish, Dinh. It's the only one I can see depth (height) of beni on in the photo, the painted on look.

#5 is irresistible isn't it? Hook nose, shiro in slashes and RED. Oh, and pushy enough to be on top, too.

Wow. What a nice collection of fish-no matter who the breeder is. Number 5 reminds of...hum, the fish in my avator? This fish seems to have the body, strong benni, and an interesting pattern. The other fish I would also buy. Good luck with your selection. Where are these fish? Got more?

Yes, the #5 reminds me your avatar as well as other Dr. David Tran's Ogata kohaku. They are Maruyama Kohakus from PS Koi... Got a lot more.... Believe or not, All pix were taken by my 6 year old daughter.

Wow! Great Photos!

Dinh, your daughter Ann is a great photographer! I love to see the way you spend time with her and that her knowledge of Koi is developing while she is so young. Did she have a favorite Kohaku??
