| First, I'd like to address the statement about carp pox - No, it doesn't just show up on the leading edges of anything. It can show up anywhere on the fish. I've seen fish covered in it and most with just one or so spots. Body, fins, head, lips, it doesn't have a preference for location.
One the shoulder of this fish, it is clear that it has had hikui for a while, because the lesions on the skin are already gone and the hi in those areas has already started to diminish, As far as the head area is concerned, I think there are other issues at hand and should be scoped just to be sure of what it is before ANY treatment advice is given.
Get a microscope and do some scrapings. See if you can identify the culprit and then let us know what you think it might be. Maybe your dealer or another hobbyist in your area can assist you with this. It's always helpful to have two people, that way you don't have to anesthetize the fish to do it. |
