Tropical Koi Show

The Tropical Koi Club's show in South Florida was this weekend. Had to work & could not go. So, I really would enjoy seeing some pics posted. They moved the show to the Ft Lauderdale area to take advantage of a festival event at a Japanese-themed garden, so should be some nice photo opportunities somebody captured.

The drive was not the issue for me. Sometimes the hobby just has to take a backseat. (Although my wife says I work to support the hobby, so it is all one and the same! LOL) Several folks from Orlando went. Some went for the whole weekend, others drove down on Saturday and were returning that night. To see some good koi and other kichi makes the drive worthwhile.

having done the three hour drive to the Gainsville show and the B.A.S.S. Master Classic ( the All japan show of bass fishing) this week end in Orlando i opted to go to the Classic. So No pics from me..
well here is one. Iwas trying to fiind KB at the Show and my old friend Crappiesan is pointing to where he saw him last (next to a sign warning about 'gators)...Who knows this BAss Master..the hat is a giveaway..the pic was with my camera phone

Before there were koi, there were bass......thank heaven I've evolved. I'm not saying there isn't a pair of camo pants hanging in the basement closest with some hemos clipped to the waistband.....I'm just saying I haven't worn them for a while......

I agree Jen - I think that's Bill Dance also - haven't seen him for awhile. Quick, somebody throw a worm or jig, that bass has his hole wide open!!LOL

Glad to see some other folks here were/are bass-aholics. Started in a club in 1973, with Dee Thomas (of Fenwick Flippin' stick fame) and George Hawley. Couldn't afford to keep up without a sponsor - it just got too big too fast!! I used to fish the Cali circuit in 1976.

It is amazing the Tropical Koi Club was able to pull this one off. A lot of people worked very hard in spite of the fact that they have had a lot of major difficulties this year. Hurricanes can truly mess ones life up.

I have never seen so many large Koi at a show this size. There were very few Koi entered in size 1 and 2. The competition in the large sizes was very stiff.

The Show was great fun in spite of the rain. I got to meet a lot of new friends.

congratulations for putting on your show this year and, also, for your individual wins. Some very nice koi you've shared with us!

Any idea what the counts were this year for # of tanks and # of koi? Was wondering if they might have been down from last year, or . . .

Seen that shiro in the champion of champion AKCA issue...very nice body. Congrats to all!!!
